Built-in camera and microphone for Skype enabled BRAVIA TVs.
The camera module itself is very small and reminds the Microsoft Kinect. But is definitely sammler and lighter that the kinect. Video quality maxes out at 720p resolution, which is on par with the competition. The camera has an array of 4 microphones. A flap at the bottom, made out of rubber assumes helps prevent the camera from slipping offs smooth surfaces.

skype camera on sony tv
A very expensive item considering the price of other high quality cameras you can buy, but as its the only one Sony allow, you have no choice. Expansys was however, the only dealer to offer this good price. So easy to set up, plug into USB slot on your TV, go to options on your remote and find Skype, and all your contacts are there (you can automaticlly log in to skype when you switch the tv on). Camera is very clear, excellent clarity, wide angle view, clear as a bell and easy to mount on the tv (top or bottom).

Ok but why not others?
it works fine but it is incredibly overpriced and it makes no sense that Sony pervents other webcams from working with theri TVs.

Easy to install,does the job well. the only negative is the inability to zoom except by moving your chair closer.
